Questions to Rethink Your Desires…
Most people never question their desires. They just chase them.
But what if the thing you’re working so hard for, was never yours to begin with?
René Girard called it Memetic Desire—the idea that we don’t invent our desires… we borrow them.
You think you want the six-figure career. The modern home. The multi-million dollar exit.
But someone made you want it first. Desire isn’t taught—it’s imitated. And unless you examine it, it runs you.
That’s why success can feel empty. You followed the script. But the role was never written for you.
If you're feeling burnt out or misaligned, don’t just pivot. Pause.
And ask yourself:
Who made me want this?
Would I still want it if no one could see it?
Is this mine—or a mask I put on to be accepted?
Do I want their entire life… or just the highlight reel?
You don’t need to kill your desires. You just need to make sure they are truly want you want.
Quote on Actions, Habits, Character, & Destiny
“Be mindful of your thoughts, for they will become your actions.
Be mindful of your actions, for they will become your habits.
Be mindful of your habits, for they will become your character.
Be mindful of your character, for it will become your destiny.” — Lao Tzu
This quote isn’t just about thinking positive.
It’s about how small choices quietly shape your entire life.
It starts with a single thought.
Maybe something you picked up as a kid:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I have to earn love.”
“Success means proving them wrong.”
You don’t notice it.
But that thought drives your actions.
Your actions become behaviors.
Your behaviors become your habits.
And before you know it—you’ve built a life around a belief that was never true.
That’s why self-awareness matters.
Not to judge yourself.
But to understand what beliefs make you navigate life.
Because when you change the root thought…
You change the habit.
You change the identity.
You change the outcome.
Insight on Power, Breaking Negative Patterns, & Observe…
What you deny about yourself will control you. But what you accept becomes your power.
The two things to help you break free from negative patterns & live a meaningful life:
Remove the false identity that your ego created to help you fit in as a child
Understand the unconscious patterns that influence on your life.
This is the way.
Trust me when I say this:
Start observing your thoughts.
Start observing your emotions.
Question why it’s coming up for you
Do it long enough, you’ll start to uncover things that you’ve hidden away for a long time.
Ideas on Swinging For The Fence
When you’ve been poor, you have nothing to lose.
And those who have nothing to lose are dangerous.
They are fearless.
They take chances.
They win at any cost.
From someone who’s been there, it doesn’t get worse than rock bottom.
Remember when you hit rock bottom, there is no where else to go but up.
Video on Waiting For The Right Pitch
This lesson by Warren Buffett hit me hard this week:
“In investing, there are no called strikes. You don’t have to swing. You can wait for the pitch that’s right for you.”
In the early days, you swing at everything.
You say yes to any opportunity that builds skill, moves you forward, or pays the bills.
But once your have career capital & developed skills, that changes.
You realize your greatest assets are time and choice.
And if that’s true, why swing at pitches that aren’t right for you?
Since my exit, I’ve been exploring new paths.
Some of them felt close. Some were experiments.
All in the name of comfort and going back to the “sure” thing.
But the sure thing was an excuse for the comfort zone.
This week, things finally clicked.
This isn’t the season for aggressively jumping from thing to thing.
It’s time to wait for the right pitch.
A pitch that aligns with whoI want to be, what I want to build, & how I want to build long term.
Because when the right pitch comes, I want to swing hard and swing fast.

Deep Dive on Shadow Work
Jung defined The Shadow as everything the ego refuses to see about itself.
It’s the parts of us we pushed away to be accepted.
The guilt. The shame. The traits we hid to survive.
But what we repress doesn't disappear. It waits. And it shows up—through triggers, patterns, and emotional outbursts.
This article explores how the shadow forms, how it surfaces (especially in relationships), and why integration is the first step in any true healing journey.
“The ego is a small island… surrounded by a vast ocean of the unconscious.”
When we make peace with that currents of ocean of our unconsciousness, we stop fighting ourselves.
We gain back energy we've been using to hide—and turn it toward healing, creativity, and growth.
